SCL Awards: Taking Home The David Raksin Award For Emerging Talent

Last night I was so fortunate to take home the David Raskin Award for Emerging Talent for my score for Star Trek: Strange New Worlds! I wanna thank the Society of Composers and Lyricists (SCL) and its members for appreciating and loving our show as much as I do. I’m grateful to the executive producers, Alex Kurtzman, Henry Alonso Myers, and Akiva Goldsman, as well as the team at the Secret Hideout and Paramount+ for taking a chance on an up-and-coming composer such as myself and trusting me with the score for the best live-action Trek in years (and I’m not biased at all!) We just wrapped season 2, and I can’t wait for everyone to see it.

A captain is nothing without her crew, and I’d like to thank my number 1, Matt Decker, science officers Jeff Kryka and Tracie Turnbull, ship’s pilot Natalia Goldstein, engineers Dennis Sands and Brian Vibberts and security officer
Vincent Cirilli, as well as our bridge crew at Warner Brothers: Jamie Olivera, Tom Hardisty, Rich Wheeler, Whitey Martin, Gina Zimmeti, Reggie Wilson, Connie Boylan, Nick Cazares, Lisa Janacua, and Booker White.
